Sustainability Action Guidelines
Basic Concept
The Toyota Tsusho Group, which operates a diverse range of businesses globally, is committed to protecting its supply chains. This is in line with our Corporate Philosophy of "Aiming to be a value-creating company that contributes to the creation of a prosperous society through co-existence and co-prosperity with people, society and the Earth," as well as a fundamental management approach.
The Toyota Tsusho Group has established the "Supply Chain Sustainability Action Guidelines" and asks suppliers to put them into practice while making them known to suppliers. We also are committed to assess risks and understand issues through due diligence, and when issues are identified, we work to improve them through dialogue with suppliers.
We will continue to work with our suppliers to build a sustainable supply chain that takes human rights, the labor environment, and the natural environment into consideration.

III.Supply Chain Sustainability Action Guidelines
- 1.Respect for Human Rights
- We understand and support the "Toyota Tsusho Group Human Rights Policy" and committed to its implementation.
- We respect the human rights of our employees and do not treat them inhumanely, including abuse, corporal punishment, and harassment.
- 2.Prevention of Forced Labor, Child Labor, and Unfair Low-wage Labor
- We does not recognize modern slavery in any form, prohibits forced labor, and guarantees that all work is voluntary and that employees have the right to leave their jobs freely.
- We do not accept child labor that deprives children of educational opportunities and forces them to work from an early age that interferes with their development.
The minimum age for employment shall be the highest among the following: 15 years old, the minimum age stipulated by the applicable laws and regulations of each country, or the age at which compulsory education is completed. - We do not assign workers under the age of 18 to hazardous work.
- We manage employees' working hours (including overtime), holidays, and vacations appropriately, and strive to reduce excessively long working hours. In addition, we do not unreasonably reduce wages, and pay wages that exceed the minimum wage in compliance with the labor laws and regulations of each country.
- We allow apprentices and trainees to work only within the scope permitted by the applicable laws of each country.
- 3.Elimination of Discrimination
- We do not discriminate in any employment practices on the basis of gender, age, nationality, race, color, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, political views, or any other status.
- 4.Respect for Freedom of Association
- We recognize employees’ right to freely associate or not to associate, in accordance with the applicable laws of the countries in which we operate.
- We guarantee employees the right to communicate openly and directly with management without fear of retaliation, intimidation or harassment.
- 5.Improvement of the Working Environment
- We place the highest priority on ensuring the safety and health of employees and strive to provide a safe, hygienic and healthy working environment.
- 6.Ensure Fair Trade and Anti-corruption
- We comply with all applicable laws and regulations and international rules, and ensure fair trade and anti-corruption.
- 7.Ensuring Quality and Safety
- We ensure the quality and safety of products and services.
- 8.Caring for the Global Environment
- We understand and support the "Toyota Tsusho Group Environmental Policy" and are committed to its implementation.
- We establish an environmental management system and carry out environmental conservation activities. We review our efforts as necessary and pursue continuous improvement with creativity.
- We promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, thereby giving maximum consideration to climate change.
Conserve resources and energy, and increase utilization efficiency. - We effective use of water and reduction of water use in water-stressed areas.
- We work to prevent and reduce environmental pollution.
- We comply with the laws and regulations of each country and region, and contribute to a recycling-oriented society and waste reduction by actively promoting proper waste disposal, effective resource use, and resource conservation.
- We are committed to realizing a sustainable society in which people and nature coexist in harmony, based on the recognition that biological diversity is essential for the continuity of corporate activities.
- We give due consideration to forest conservation and aim to use forest resources sustainably
- 9.Contribution to the Local Community
- We protect the rights and livelihood of the local community and contribute to the community as a member of the local community.
- 10.Disclosure of Information
- We disclose information regarding the above in a timely and appropriate manner.
II.Monitoring
We will deepen communication with our suppliers and conduct regular surveys of our suppliers in order to understand the status of compliance with these guidelines. Further, we will visit suppliers to confirm activities on site as we deem necessary based on the activity area and business content.
III.Responding to Non-compliance
If any issues arise that are contrary to these Guidelines, please report them promptly and work together with us to pursue kaizen (continuous improvement). We may reconsider our transactions with your company if we do not observe appropriate efforts to make improvements.
